Agent‐based modeling to integrate elements from different disciplines for ambitious climate policy

چکیده

Ambitious climate mitigation policies face social and political resistance. One reason is that existing insufficiently capture the diversity of relevant insights from sciences about potential policy outcomes. We argue agent-based models can serve as a powerful tool for integration elements different disciplines. Having such common platform will enable more complete assessment policies, in terms criteria like effectiveness, equity public support. This article categorized under: Climate Models Modeling > Knowledge Generation with The Carbon Economy Mitigation Policies, Instruments, Lifestyles, Behavior Policy Governance Multilevel Transnational Change

Designing an interactive activity to integrate animal physiology in the context of different disciplines.

Learning is an active process (4). Thus, in an attempt to achieve better results in the learning process, in our teaching project we introduced a complementary activity to other classroom activities (theory and practical sessions). This activity’s design was based on one of the recommendations of the Andalusian Government’s Committee for Innovation in University Teaching (CIDUA) on the basic as...

How to integrate data from different sources

We present a dynamic multilingual repository for multi-source, multilevel linguistic data descriptions. The repository is able to integrate and merge multiple/concurrent descriptions of linguistic entities and allows existing relationships to be extended and new ones created. In addition, the repository is capable of also storing metadata, allowing for richer descriptions. We present results fr...

New feed sources key to ambitious climate targets

Net carbon sinks capable of avoiding dangerous perturbation of the climate system and preventing ocean acidification have been identified, but they are likely to be limited by resource constraints (Nature 463:747-756, 2010). Land scarcity already creates tension between food security and bioenergy production, and this competition is likely to intensify as populations and the effects of climate ...

Policy options for value added to different levels of production

This paper presents an analytic procedure for the value added to different production levels with different policy options. The approach is stochastic and thus provides a framework for informed decision-making on productivity growth under uncertainty conditions. The model was applied to data collected from a firm and re-sults recommend that the firm should redevelop if in diversification and sy...

Extending Classification Principles from Information Modeling to Other Disciplines

Special Issue Jeffrey Parsons Memorial University of Newfoundland [email protected] Yair Wand University of British Columbia [email protected] Classifying phenomena is a central aspect of cognition. Similarly, specifying classes of interest is a central aspect of information systems analysis and design. We extend principles originally developed to guide classification in information systems...
